   When to fertilize

   Feed an indoor peace lily with a low-dose liquid fertilizer three times a year, following the product instructions.

   Keep to about three light feeds a year indoors rather than a monthly or seasonal program.

   Fertilizer type and dose

   Use a low-dose liquid houseplant fertilizer, such as a balanced 20-20-20, at one-quarter of the label’s recommended strength.

   Flush the soil with plain water between feeds.

   When not to fertilize

   Too much fertilizer and salt buildup can burn peace-lily leaf tips, margins and roots. If you see this, feed less often or at lower strength, and flush the soil between feeds. Other problems can cause the same damage.
