A useful free tier

5 plant identifications per day, the JungleBook with profiles on demand, watering schedules, and the plant journal are free. Pro adds AI tools and Weather-smart care. Current subscription terms are shown by the app store.

Pet-safety is sourced and locked

Cat and dog toxicity in the curated catalog is hand-checked against the ASPCA Toxic and Non-Toxic Plants list. That stored verdict takes priority over generated text, and the AI cannot change a toxic plant to safe. This is reference information, not veterinary advice.

AI has explicit boundaries

AI interprets photos and can draft an off-catalog care profile. Before a generated profile is saved, Botanicaly requires its genus to match the identification and bounds numeric care values to supported ranges. For curated plants, generated advice never overrides the locked pet-safety verdict.
