   Best position and light

   Use bright light for Strelitzia reginae. A warm sunny room or conservatory suits indoor growth, but protect a plant that is not acclimated from harsh direct sun through glass.

   Place the container near the brightest suitable window in a large room. Rotate it when needed for even growth, and move it outdoors only to a sheltered position after gradual acclimation.

   Seasonal light changes

   Indoor light usually falls in autumn and winter, while summer outdoor placement can be possible. Adjust the location gradually instead of moving the plant straight from shade to strong sun.

   Signs the light may be wrong

   Small, weak or stretched growth and poor flowering can signal inadequate light. Scorched or shredded foliage can follow excessive direct sun, an abrupt change or wind. Also review water, humidity and temperature.

   Limits of this light guide
