Light needs for a string of pearls

   Best position and light

   Indoors, give Curio rowleyanus, also sold as Senecio rowleyanus, bright light. Bright indirect light works, and several hours of direct sun can too. Introduce direct sun gradually.

   Use a bright indoor window or equivalent position. If the pot moves outside, acclimate it gradually to stronger light to reduce scorch.

2. 02

   Seasonal light changes

   Move the plant outside only for a frost-free growing season and after gradual acclimation. Bring it back in before frost. Winter conditions may be cooler and less bright.

   Signs the light may be wrong

   Scorching or bleached leaves after a brighter move points to too much or too abrupt sun. Weak, stretched trailing growth calls for a light review. Yellowing or wilting can also involve water or pests.

   Limits of this light guide

   No single indoor position or acclimation period fits every cultivar. This advice is for string of pearls, sold as Senecio or Curio rowleyanus, not other trailing succulents.
