How to repot a lucky bamboo

   When to repot

   First identify soil or water-and-pebble culture. For soil, check root crowding and drainage. For water culture, check the vessel, pebbles, and water level.

   Choosing the next pot

   In soil, choose a draining container with suitable mix. In water, use a clean stable vessel with pebbles and the appropriate water level rather than moving automatically into soil. No universal diameter, depth or pebble amount is set.

   How to repot

   Keep soil culture in peat-free or well-drained potting medium and water culture in a clean water-and-pebble setup. After a soil change, drain excess. A water-grown plant stays in its water system.

   After repotting

   For soil culture, keep the mix evenly damp but not saturated and let the top layer dry slightly before watering again. For water culture, maintain the water level, change the water weekly, and watch for yellowing or rot. Weekly water changes are not a soil-watering interval.
