   When to fertilize

   Feed Chamaedorea elegans monthly through spring to autumn when growth is poor despite suitable conditions. Do not use a fixed schedule when the plant is dormant or the room is too dim for active growth.

   Keep routine applications in spring through autumn and reassess in winter as growth and light slow. Naturally slow growth is not a sign that the palm needs more fertilizer.

   Fertilizer type and dose

   Use a balanced liquid fertilizer or general liquid feed for Chamaedorea elegans.

   Follow the chosen product label for home dilution. No single amount fits every parlor-palm pot.

   When not to fertilize

   Poor growth despite suitable light, mix condition and temperature is the prompt to consider feeding. Brown or declining foliage also overlaps with overwatering, underwatering, hard water, direct sun and pests. Check those conditions before adding fertilizer.
