   When to repot

   Repot only when roots or exhausted mix limit the current container and drainage remains reliable after inspection. A stable String of hearts does not need an annual change.

   If repotting is needed, use spring timing. Spring is a preference for necessary work, not a reason to repot a stable plant every year.

   Choosing the next pot

   Keep a drainage hole and avoid moving the plant into a large pot automatically. String of hearts often prefers to stay somewhat crowded, so follow root and mix condition.

   How to repot

   Use cactus or succulent mix amended with coarse sand or perlite in a container that drains freely.

   After repotting

   After the change, let the medium dry fully between waterings, reduce water in winter, and protect the plant from cold, wet conditions. This is not a fixed post-repot calendar.
