How to water thoroughly

  1. Apply water around the root zone or from below so the leaves and crown stay dry, then let excess drain before returning the pot to its place. Bottom watering is an option, not a required method.
  2. Use a well-drained African-violet mix and do not leave the pot standing in water. A wet crown or persistently wet mix raises the risk of rot. Avoiding saturation does not mean leaving the root ball dry for long periods.
