   Plant names and labels

   Florist cyclamen is Cyclamen persicum, and florist hybrids come from this species. Other Cyclamen species are not covered here.

   Useful groups include miniature, intermediate, and standard plants, plus single, double, picotee, striped, and ruffled forms with different foliage markings. These are horticultural groups, not formal botanical ranks.

   How the varieties differ

   Miniature plants are about 15 cm (6 in) or less, while standard plants are around 30 cm (12 in). Flower colors range from white through pink, lavender, and red. Double, picotee, striped, ruffled, and lightly scented miniature forms also exist.

   Care differences

   The form changes display space and flowering expectations, but florist cyclamen share cool conditions, bright, indirect light, and watering only when the surface of the mix feels dry while flowering. Keep days around 16–18 °C (61⁠–⁠64 °F), though newer hybrids may handle a wider temperature range.

   Limits of plant labels

   Color alone will not identify a cultivar, and there is no cultivar-by-cultivar dormancy schedule. Check actual temperature, mix condition, and tuber state instead of relying on the decorative label.
