   When to fertilize

   Feed Euphorbia milii monthly with a low-nitrogen liquid fertilizer during active growth. Keep the plant dry in winter instead of carrying the active-growth routine into dormancy.

   Tie feeding to active growth and reduce or stop it during the dry winter rest. A warm, bright indoor plant may not follow the same season as a warm-climate outdoor specimen.

   Fertilizer type and dose

   Choose a low-nitrogen liquid fertilizer suited to a succulent or flowering Euphorbia container. Follow the product label. No brand or formulation is universal.

   Use the manufacturer’s dilution and never exceed it. The amount depends on the fertilizer, pot, and plant.

   When not to fertilize

   If salts are building up, roots are damaged, or the plant has been kept too wet, pause feeding and inspect the mix and roots before adding nutrients. Too much fertilizer can burn sensitive succulent roots.
