   Best soil mix

   Use a well-draining indoor potting mix. You do not need an exact bark, peat or sand recipe.

   Choose a container and medium that let excess water leave freely. Continuously wet soil increases root-rot risk, so drought tolerance does not remove the need for drainage.

   Match the mix to the pot and setting

   This indoor Dracaena marginata may also be listed under Dracaena reflexa var. angustifolia. Look for both names when you read care advice.

   When soil alone is not the problem

   Choose the mix by drainage, not a set recipe or pH. Do not copy a mix recipe from another Dracaena species or from outdoor growing.
