Delete your account or data

Delete the whole account: option 1 (in the app, instant)

1. Open Botanicaly on your device.
2. Sign in to the account you want to delete.
3. Go to Settings (the bottom-right tab).
4. Scroll to Account and tap Delete account ("Radera konto" in Swedish).
5. Confirm. Your data is removed immediately.

Option 2: request deletion by email

If you no longer have access to the app or your sign-in method, send an email from the address registered on your Botanicaly account to:

Use the subject "Botanicaly account deletion request". We will verify ownership and complete the deletion within 30 days.

What is deleted immediately

• Your Firebase Authentication user (email, sign-in identity)
• Your profile (display name, language, location preferences, onboarding answers)
• My plants data (nicknames, room labels, watering history, AI identification history)
• All plant photos you uploaded (Firebase Storage)
• Your Botanicaly Pro access in the app (store and RevenueCat billing records are retained as described below)

What may be retained, and for how long

• Deletion safety marker A one-way hash derived from the internal account identifier is retained for 24 hours solely to prevent still-valid sign-in tokens from recreating deleted data. It contains no account content and is removed by the next hourly cleanup, normally within 25 hours total.
• Product-usage analytics events (e.g. plant_added, pro_modal_shown): may include the internal account identifier used after sign-in and may be retained for up to 14 months. Your app account and plant data are deleted immediately.
• Crash logs sent via Firebase Crashlytics: each report carries a pseudonymous account identifier, which we do not link to your name or email address. Firebase keeps reports for up to 90 days, and deleting your account does not remove reports already sent.
• Backups of Firestore: nightly system backups are kept for 7 days. Your data is removed from them as the backups are replaced on the regular schedule.
• Billing records required by tax law are retained as long as legally required (typically 7 years in the EU). These contain transaction metadata only. They do not contain personal content.

Your subscription is separate

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a billed subscription. Cancel before deleting, via Google Play subscriptions or Apple subscriptions.
