Delete your data without deleting your account
If you want a fresh start but want to keep your account: open Botanicaly → Settings → Reset Data This permanently removes every plant, watering history entry, journal photo, and AI scan, but keeps your profile, language, and Pro subscription intact.
You can also delete a single plant from its detail page (Archive → permanent delete).
Delete the whole account — Option 1 (in the app, instant)
- Open Botanicaly on your device.
- Sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Go to Settings (the bottom-right tab).
- Scroll to Account and tap Delete account ("Radera konto" in Swedish).
- Confirm. Your data is removed immediately.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you no longer have access to the app or your sign-in method, send an email from the address registered on your Botanicaly account to:
Use the subject "Botanicaly account deletion request". We will verify ownership and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What is deleted immediately
- Your Firebase Authentication user (email, sign-in identity)
- Your profile (display name, language, location preferences, onboarding answers)
- Your plant collection (nicknames, room labels, watering history, AI scan history)
- All plant photos you uploaded (Firebase Storage)
- Your Botanicaly Pro access in the app (store and RevenueCat billing records are retained as described below)
What may be retained, and for how long
- Anonymous analytics events (e.g. plant_added, pro_modal_shown): retained up to 14 months in aggregate form, with no link to your account.
- Crash logs sent via Firebase Crashlytics: retained up to 90 days, anonymized after deletion.
- Backups of Firestore: nightly system backups are retained 7 days; your data is purged from these on the normal rotation.
- Billing records required by tax law: retained as long as legally required (typically 7 years in the EU). These contain transaction metadata only — no personal content.
Cancel a subscription
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a billed subscription. Cancel before deleting, via Google Play subscriptions or Apple subscriptions.
